Are You Wanting to be a Personal Brand Photographer? According to the Census Bureau, in 2020 during the US Pandemic over 4.4 Million New Businesses Were Established.

Solopreneurs, entrepreneurs, startups, and small businesses across every industry are searching for photographers to provide content that converts. Branded photography has never been in greater demand; therefore it presents an excellent opportunity to expand your photography business. Below are a few helpful guidelines to get you started with branding photography as a strategic way of expanding it further.

1. Establish Client Needs with a Free Consultation
Once a potential client contacts you, begin with a live or virtual consultation to gain more insight into them as individuals and their respective companies – what sets them apart from competitors, their unique vision for growth etc.

If they possess a formal brand kit that includes their brand colors, logo, detailed demographics, website, social media presence and business summary – ask them to send it over before your consultation takes place. Otherwise, visit their website or social media accounts in advance to familiarize yourself with their brand.

Create a list of questions designed to identify who the individual is. These should include:

What is their history and brand story?
Who are their target demographics? What solutions does their product or service provide for customers?
And finally, what makes them special?
How and where will they use their photos and videos?
What doesn’t work about their current content creation process?
What Are They Seeking To Achieve Differently? A consultation ensures you and your prospective client are the right match, in terms of both needs and personality compatibility. Once a match has been identified, clearly outline all requirements needed for their photoshoot if applicable – for instance if they reside out-of-state you must either travel there yourself or they must come visit you if applicable.
