About Us

We created Exploring Behind the Shutter to give back to the photography community. As a budding photographer, Sal was struggling to find answers to basic questions. Most magazines are filled with bells and whistles, Sal needed and wanted to start a magazine that would challenge and educate photographers.

Sal is an active wedding and portrait photographer in the St. Louis metro area and wanted to bring a real-world understanding to magazines and photography education.

Our mission is to create and enhance the photography community by providing relevant and timely education. At Exploring Behind the Shutter, we believe that an educated photographic community will enhance all photographers around the world.
